We are looking for an experienced Construction Fitter for heavy steel structures. As a Construction Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and mounting heavy steel components for various construction projects. The focus is on working with carbon steel and CO2 welding techniques.

What we expect from you

• Demonstrable experience as a Construction Fitter or similar role within heavy steel construction
• Experience with carbon steel and CO2 welding techniques
• Strong knowledge of reading technical drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Familiarity with various tools and equipment within the construction industry
• Excellent accuracy and precision in measurements and assembly
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good physical condition and fine motor skills
• VCA
• Strong focus on safety procedures
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent qualification

About the position

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Preparing and organising materials, tools and equipment
• Carbon steel cutting, forming and welding with CO2 welding techniques
• Ensure accurate measurement and alignment of steel components during assembly
• Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure structural integrity
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised workplace
• Work according to project schedules and meet deadlines
